English The Rome emperors of the 15th century were no longer military companies seeking to restitute imperial rights by force of arms, but representative voyages serving the ruling self-promotion and demonstrative display of political relations. Using the example of Sigismund of Luxembourg, this book examines conditions and forms of political communication between the Reich and Italy. Inspired by the research approach of a "cultural history of the political", the acting of the ruler in Italy is embedded in the complex interplay of forces.
